The official Koha Jonë app for iOS and Android — real-time daily news, full articles with photo and video, Video & WebTV, a personalised “For You” feed, and our KOHA AI implementation that lets users ask questions about the news.

Koha Jonë, the independent daily founded on May 11, 1991, needed its newsroom in readers’ pockets. We built native-quality iOS and Android apps that mirror the website’s sections, stream shows and reports in one place, and keep reading comfortable day or night with light and dark themes. We also implemented KOHA AI, an AI assistant that answers users’ questions about published news.

The challenge

Readers were stuck on a mobile website that wasn’t built for on-the-go news, with no personalised feed and no easy way to watch Video & WebTV or save articles for later. The newsroom had no direct channel to its mobile audience — so we shipped fast, modern iOS and Android apps with search, offline-friendly saved reads, and KOHA AI on top of the news.

Readers get the headlines and latest news updated continuously, follow the categories they care about, open complete articles with photos, YouTube video and quick summaries, save stories for later, and search the full archive. We implemented KOHA AI — an in-app AI assistant that lets users ask questions about published news and get instant, context-aware answers. Privacy comes first: no account required — follows, saved reads and theme stay only on the device.
